2012 Nova Game Winners

2012 ICGS Nova Game Awards.

This particular contest took place in Austin TX at Beauford and Blott's Sandwich Shoppe during the fifteenth annual "Big Ass Texas Game Convention."

Award Categories:
  1. Best Overall Game
  2. Best Dice Game
  3. Best Card Game
  4. Best Family Game
  5. Best RPG Game
  6. Most Interesting Game Mechanic
Award Winners:
  1. Day of the Gazebo
  2. Rolling Ricky
  3. Its Not in the Cards - End of the World version
  4. Mayan Calendar Monopoly
  5. Going Insane with Cthulhu - LARP rules version
  6. Sleight of Hand rules for Rolling Ricky 
Judges:
2012 saw the separation of each award category being judged by different groups.
2012 also saw our first attempt at crowd source voting.

  1. Overall judges consisted of the founding members of the IGCS, Brad and Mark Franklin and their friends Jason M. and Bart K.
  2. Dice game judges consisted of Rick and Roll Astley.
  3. Card game judge was Ms. Marie Laveaux
  4. Family game judges were Ms. Marie Laveaux and Brad Franklin.
  5. RPG game judges were random votes by passers-by on their way to the second breakfast meal at the Piggly-Wiggly from the LARP session at the convention.
  6. Best game mechanic judges was by group consensus.
